Hakimi credits his success to Enrique.
Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi praised his Spanish coach Luis Enrique during the training session held at Paris Saint-Germain's training headquarters on Wednesday evening, in the presence of a large number of European media, who followed the team's final preparations before the UEFA Champions League final.
Hakimi stated, in remarks reported by "Sky Sport Italy," that the Spanish coach has made a significant change within the Parisian club, noting: "Luis Enrique has changed Paris Saint-Germain and changed the mentality of the entire club. We are a family, we play for each other, and this shows on the pitch."
The Moroccan full-back added that the work being done by the Spanish coach has clearly reflected on the group this season, especially in terms of team spirit and harmony within the squad, which has helped the club deliver strong performances in the Champions League and reach the final match.
Hakimi continued his remarks by praising Enrique's way of dealing with the players, confirming that he feels grateful to work with him at the Parisian club, and added: "I think I am lucky to be in this team, playing with these players, and with this coach. Playing at this club makes me feel like a lucky player."
The Moroccan international confirmed that his Spanish coach has helped him develop many technical and mental aspects of his playing style, adding: "He has given me many things I didn't know before, and made me change my mentality, whether in the way I play or how I position myself in different positions than I was used to."
Hakimi concluded his statements by emphasizing the significant impact Luis Enrique has had on his football and personal career, saying: "I believe he has made me a better player and a better person as well," in a message that reflects the strong relationship between the two ahead of the anticipated European appointment.
Hakimi has recently been absent due to an injury he sustained during the first leg of the Champions League semi-final, but current indications confirm that he is close to regaining his full fitness, which suggests his presence in the final of the European competition scheduled for May 30 against Arsenal.
