The youth teams of Senegal and Algeria in the quarter-finals.
The Senegalese and Algerian national teams for under 17 football have qualified for the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations, following the matches of the third and final round of group D competitions, held today, Wednesday, at the Mohammed VI Football Complex.
The Senegalese team won against their Algerian counterparts with a score of two to one, while the second match in the same group ended with South Africa losing to Ghana by three goals to one.
The two goals for the Senegalese team were scored by Sheikh Ding (15th minute) and Suleiman Faye (43rd minute, penalty), while Elias Makawi scored the goal for the Algerian team (5th minute).
In the second match, Joseph Narbi scored two goals for the Ghanaian team from penalty kicks (8th and 42nd minutes), and Augustin Appiah added the third goal in the second minute of stoppage time, while Thandani Mahlongo scored the goal for the South African team (65th minute).
After the third round, the Senegalese team topped the standings of group D with 6 points, ahead of the teams from Algeria (4 points), Ghana (4 points), and South Africa (3 points).
