"The cubs" defeat the Egyptian national team and qualify for the quarter-finals of the "Youth Africa Cup."
The Moroccan national team for under 17 years qualified for the second round of the African Youth Cup, topping Group A, after winning this evening against the Egyptian team with a score of two goals to one, in a match held at the Mohammed VI Football Complex.
The first half started with a back-and-forth between the two sides, as both the Moroccan and Egyptian teams tried to score the opening goal in the early minutes. In the 18th minute, Mohamed Amin Moustach broke through the Egyptian defense, scoring the first goal after a brilliant pass from Ibrahim Rabaj, giving the "young lions" the lead over the "pharaohs."
In the 45+2 minute, Imran Talai doubled the score for the Moroccan team, leading the young lions to finish the first half with a clean two-goal advantage over the Egyptian team.
During the second half, the Egyptian team pressed hard to score a goal to bring them back into the game, which was achieved by Ziad Saudi in the 49th minute.
With this result, the Moroccan team topped Group A with 7 points, while the Egyptian team came in second place with 4 points, separated by goal difference from the Ethiopian team, which occupied third place with the same points, while Tunisia finished last with only one point.
It is worth noting that the Moroccan under 17 team will face the Cameroon team in the quarter-finals, which finished second in Group B behind the leader, the Ivory Coast team.
