Reports link Taoussi to the Liberia national team.
African media reports have revealed that the Liberian Football Association (LFA) has entered into serious negotiations with Moroccan coach Rachid Taoussi to take over the coaching of the Liberian national team, "The Lone Stars," during the upcoming continental competitions.
The same sources confirmed that the officials of the Liberian Football Association have included Taoussi's name among the top options, considering his extensive experience in African football, in addition to holding a "CAF Pro License," which aligns with the new sports project that the association aims to implement in the coming years.
According to the same information, initial communications between the two parties have begun to discuss financial aspects and sports objectives, paving the way for a possible official agreement for Taoussi to lead the Liberian national team in the qualifiers for both the Africa Cup of Nations and the World Cup.
These moves come after Mustafa Raji was re-elected as president of the Liberian Football Association for a third term extending until 2030, where securing a contract with a new coach for the national team is among the priorities for the upcoming phase.
It is worth noting that Rachid Taoussi is currently without a team since leaving the club Kawkab Marrakech at the beginning of the current season, and he has accumulated numerous experiences both within Morocco and abroad, whether with the Moroccan national team or clubs such as Raja Casablanca, Royal Army, and FUS Rabat, in addition to other African and Arab experiences.
