An injury disrupts Salami's plans in Jordan.
It is now certain that Issam Al-Samiri will miss the Jordanian national team in the 2026 World Cup finals, following a complete tear in the Achilles tendon of his left foot, as revealed by medical examinations after he underwent an individual training session less than a month before the World Cup.
This forced absence adds to the list of injured players within the "Nashama" squad, which includes Yazan Al-Nuaimat and Adham Al-Qurashi, putting national coach Jamal Salami in a real test to overcome these human obstacles before embarking on the first "World Cup" adventure in the USA, Mexico, and Canada.
This medical incident deprives player Issam Al-Samiri of crowning his football career, which has been filled with milestones, between the Jordanian and Bahraini leagues, alongside clubs such as Al-Salt, Al-Riffa, and Al-Muharraq, as his dream of a historic first appearance for Jordan in the World Cup evaporated after he had gained the trust of the technical management last August.
