The Moroccan national team chooses to gradually prepare for the "2026 World Cup" finals.
The Moroccan national team has chosen to play three friendly matches in preparation for its participation in the World Cup; the "Atlas Lions" will face Burundi on May 26, Madagascar on June 2, and Norway on June 7, respectively.
Regarding these choices made by the national technical management to assess the readiness of the "Atlas Lions" before the global event, sports analyst Mehdi Kaswa stated that the decision to conduct three matches for World Cup preparation is logical due to the necessity of maintaining competitiveness by continuing to play matches.
Kaswa added, in a statement to Hespress, that the quality of the three teams varies, noting that the choice of the Norwegian team is based on the similarity of its playing style to that of the Scottish team, which is in the same group as the Moroccan team, praising this choice as the Norwegian team serves as a real test to identify and address the shortcomings of the "Lions" before the global event.
The sports analyst explained that the Norwegian team relies on a direct playing style and physical thrusts, stating that this will pose a real test for coach Mohamed Wahbi's squad before the World Cup matches begin.
As for the Madagascar team, the same source mentioned that it is one of the teams that has seen development in recent years, also praising this choice as it is a team that relies on collective performance and speed in building and transitioning.
Regarding the Burundi team, Mehdi Kaswa noted that the match serves as an opportunity to gain a psychological boost to enter the global event with a winning mentality.
He concluded that the difference in quality among the three teams could provide an advantage and yield positive gains for the "Atlas Lions," both in terms of football and morale, warning of injuries that could affect them before the global event kicks off.
