"The Atlas Lions" draw with Tunisia in the opening of the "U17 AFCON" finals.
The match between the Moroccan U17 national team and their Tunisian counterpart ended in a 1-1 draw, in a game that took place this Wednesday evening at the Moulay Hassan Stadium in Rabat, as part of the first round of the group stage of the U17 Africa Cup of Nations held in the kingdom.
The Tunisian team was the first to open the scoring, finishing the first half ahead thanks to a goal from player Yahya Jlidi, who scored in the 28th minute of the match, taking advantage of one of the opportunities available to the "Eagles of Carthage."
With the start of the second half, the national team intensified its attacking attempts in order to equalize and come back in the match, which was indeed achieved in the 76th minute by player Elian Hadidi, who capitalized on a precise and decisive pass from his teammate Ismail Al-Aoud, to find the back of the Tunisian net.
In the final minutes, there was a strong push from the "Atlas Cubs," who pressed hard to score the winning goal, but the lack of a final touch in front of the goal prevented them from finding the net, ending the match with both teams sharing the points.
Following this draw, the Moroccan and Tunisian teams now share the top spot in Group A with one point each, while the Egyptian and Ethiopian teams occupy the third and fourth places, also with one point each, and without any goals scored.
