Messi celebrates Barcelona's league title.
The Argentine star Lionel Messi congratulated his former team Barcelona just hours after they secured the La Liga title for the 29th time in their history and the second consecutive time, writing on the Instagram story feature, “Champions, long live Barcelona.”
Messi, the star of the American team Inter Miami, which he led to its first-ever league title last season, shared a story on his official Instagram account, posting a designed image from Barcelona's account, and wrote above it, “Champions, long live Barcelona.”
The Catalan giant secured the title three rounds before the end of the season, following their victory over their fierce rival Real Madrid on Sunday with a score of 2-0 at Camp Nou.
The "Blaugrana" increased the gap between them and the royal club to 14 points (91 to 77), winning the title for the second consecutive year under the guidance of their German coach Hansi Flick.
On the other hand, the capital team exited for the second consecutive season empty-handed after failing to win any title.
Messi left Barcelona in 2021 after spending 18 years in its ranks, progressing from the academy to the first team, before moving to Paris Saint-Germain, where he spent two seasons (2021-2023) before transferring to Inter Miami, where he still plays.
Messi experienced his golden days with Barcelona, scoring 474 goals in 520 matches, leading them to the league title ten times and the Champions League four times, in addition to other titles in various competitions, and he was awarded the Ballon d'Or for the best player in the world seven times out of the eight recorded in his name.
