Wydad avoids competition in Beni Mellal.
"Hasport" learned from an informed source that the Raja Beni Mellal team will host Wydad Athletic Club in the Round of 32 of the King's Cup next Sunday at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca.
The same source confirmed that the municipal stadium in Beni Mellal does not meet the required conditions to host matches of the King's Cup at this stage, due to its artificial turf, while the regulations of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation stipulate that matches must be played on natural grass, in addition to the stadium having lighting and VAR technology.
The source also indicated that the Beni Mellal team attempted to host the match at the Khouribga stadium, but their request was not approved, leading them to seek an alternative solution and host it at the Mohammed V Stadium.
The same source explained that the officials of Raja Beni Mellal engaged in discussions with the management of Wydad Athletic Club in recent days, before reaching an agreement to hold the match at the Mohammed V Stadium, as it meets the required organizational standards.
The source emphasized that the management of the "Red Team" also agreed to grant Raja Beni Mellal the ticket revenues, as part of the agreement between the two parties to facilitate the hosting of the match in Casablanca.
