The duo Rahimi scores a "hat-trick" for Al Ain.
The Al Ain Club, the champion of the UAE league this season, achieved a resounding victory over its guest Al Dhafra with a score of 5-0, in the 25th and penultimate round of the competition, yesterday, Sunday.
Al Ain finished the first half leading by four goals, scored by Al-Hussein Rahimi, Traore, and Sofiane Rahimi (a brace) in the 15th, 17th, 32nd, and 35th minutes of the match held at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium.
In the second half, substitute Laba Kodjo added the fifth goal in the 73rd minute.
With this overwhelming victory, Al Ain, which clinched the title for the 15th time in its history in the previous round, raised its tally to 65 points at the top of the standings, remaining just one step away from finishing the season unbeaten.
On the other hand, Al Dhafra's situation worsened as it remained stuck at 19 points at the bottom of the standings in 14th place, remaining threatened with relegation to the second division, as its survival now depends on winning in the final round and waiting for the missteps of its rivals.
At the same time, Sharjah secured its official survival from relegation with a goalless draw against Al Bataeh.
Sharjah raised its tally to 26 points in 10th place, while Al Bataeh is in 13th place, second to last, with 20 points, trailing on goal difference behind Dibba Al Fujairah, which is in 12th place and lost 2-0 to Ajman in a third match at the same time.
With its victory over Fujairah, Ajman raised its tally to 31 points in 7th place.
In a match of no consequence, Bani Yas drew with Al Ahli Youth 2-2.
Al Ahli Youth's goals were scored by Mohammed Jumaa Al Mansouri in the 10th and 39th minutes, while Lionel Verdi and Fawaz Awaneh scored for Bani Yas in the 34th and 64th minutes.
Al Ahli Youth, the defending champion of last season, raised its tally to 57 points in 2nd place, while Bani Yas occupies 8th place with 27 points.
