Real Madrid wants to sign Al-Wahidi.
Mohamed Ashhabar Al-Wahidi, the father of Moroccan international Zakaria Al-Wahidi, a player for Belgian club Genk, confirmed that Real Madrid is interested in signing him during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Ashhabar stated in a special interview with "Hesport" that Real Madrid has started to gauge the interest of Genk's management and also his agent to explore the possibility of purchasing his contract to wear the team's jersey starting from next season.
The same spokesperson confirmed that Al-Wahidi has received several European offers in the past period, but he has not made a decision yet, and they will be discussed thoroughly before making a final decision.
Media reports have indicated that several teams have shown interest in the Moroccan international, most notably French club Marseille, English club Crystal Palace, and Dutch club PSV Eindhoven.
It is worth noting that Al-Wahidi has played 41 matches with Genk this season, scoring 12 goals and being pivotal in 5, and he participated with the Moroccan national team in the last preparatory gathering in March during the matches against Ecuador and Paraguay.
