"A lighter" causes Aubameyang to be punished.
Olympique Marseille has decided to exclude its Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from the squad for the match against Le Havre in the French league, after it was reported that he sprayed a member of the administrative staff with a fire extinguisher, according to the French newspaper "L'Équipe" on Saturday.
The report stated that Aubameyang led a group of players on a tour inside the club's training center, in an attempt to create a festive atmosphere.
However, things took a different turn after it was reported that Aubameyang used a fire extinguisher to spray a member of the club's management, the person responsible for enforcing the players' curfew.
Due to the team's poor performance and results, players have been required to spend several nights in the team's hotel at the training grounds.
The report indicated that Aubameyang apologized to the staff member, explaining that he only wanted to boost the team's morale through a celebration reminiscent of summer camp.
Marseille currently occupies the seventh position in the French league standings and faces the risk of missing out on European competitions next season, and will visit Le Havre tomorrow, Sunday.
