PSG supporters celebrate violently.
Scattered incidents of unrest broke out in the French capital after Paris Saint-Germain qualified for the UEFA Champions League final on Wednesday evening, and 127 people were arrested in the "City of Lights."
French Interior Minister Laurent Nunez told Europe 1 radio on Thursday that 11 people were injured, one of them seriously, and 23 law enforcement officers sustained minor injuries.
French media reported that fans gathered to celebrate around the Parc des Princes stadium and on the Champs-Élysées after PSG drew 1-1 with Bayern Munich. This result was enough for PSG to win the tie 6-5 and qualify for the final.
The "Champs-Élysées gatherings" in central Paris had previously been banned, and as a result, police used tear gas in scattered instances.
Last year, violent riots erupted in Paris following Paris Saint-Germain's victory in the Champions League, where perpetrators looted stores, smashed windows, and set cars on fire, but such scenes were not recorded this time. At that time, 294 people were arrested.
