The King's Cup coincided with the Champions League final.
The Royal Moroccan Football Federation is looking into the possibility of scheduling one or two rounds of the Throne Cup during the period that will coincide with the final of the African Champions League, with the first leg set to take place on May 15, and the return leg on the 24th of the same month, as part of its efforts to accelerate the pace of this competition.
A responsible source revealed, in communication with "Hesport," that this direction aims to achieve tangible progress in the Throne Cup competitions, especially in light of the significant pressure on the current football season's schedule, accompanied by congestion in matches at the national league level and continental competitions.
This proposal also comes with the aim of easing the burden on national clubs, which are suffering from the succession of matches in short time frames, affecting the physical readiness and competitiveness of players, and increasing the likelihood of injuries.
The Football Federation's approach is based on the existence of sufficient time margins to complete the football season, after being authorized to extend it until June 27, despite coinciding with the start of the 2026 World Cup matches, which provides greater flexibility in managing the remaining competitions.
