Expected sanctions against the army and Raja.
The disciplinary committee of the National Professional Football League is expected to issue its decisions regarding the incidents of violence that accompanied the match between the Royal Army and Raja Casablanca, which took place yesterday, Thursday, at the Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
A responsible source revealed that the anticipated penalties will include a financial fine of 200,000 dirhams for each team, in addition to holding both clubs accountable for the costs of repairing the damages caused to the stadium facilities, following the behaviors exhibited by some fans during the match.
According to the same source, the decisions are also expected to include sporting penalties, consisting of Raja Casablanca playing three matches without fans, compared to five matches without fans for the Royal Army, in a move aimed at reducing the recurrence of such incidents within national stadiums.
These measures come in the context of the disciplinary committee's emphasis on applying the principle of discipline within professional competitions, especially in matches that witness a large fan presence.
