"Raja members" demand an investigation.
Members of the Raja Club Athletic condemned the "organizational shortcomings" that accompanied the match between the Casablanca team and their counterpart, the Royal Army, which led to unfortunate events yesterday, Thursday, at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
The members of Raja Club Athletic announced, in a statement, their "absolute and unconditional solidarity" with the team's fans, especially those who were subjected to suspensions, demanding "justice for them and their release, while considering the spirit of fairness in their regard."
The members of the Casablanca club expressed their "dismay at the unjust refereeing decisions that directly and blatantly affected the course of the match, which were characterized by a double standard in the application of the law, leading to a complete absence of the principle of equal opportunities between the two teams."
The same source noted, with great concern, "the manner in which the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) was managed, especially in critical and decisive moments, where decisions were made that lacked accuracy and clarity, putting the credibility of using this technology in the national championship at stake."
The concerned parties called on the National Professional Football League (LNFP) to "open a serious and urgent investigation to address the violations that occurred during the match," emphasizing the necessity of "publishing the audio recordings from the 'VAR' room, reinforcing the principle of transparency and activating the principle of accountability."
The members of the "green club" affirmed their "firm commitment to the values of integrity and sports justice, and their insistence that football practice in our country remains governed by the rule of law and the protection of the rights of all clubs and their fans without discrimination."
They did not miss the opportunity to extend their appreciation and respect to the security personnel who made strenuous efforts to maintain everyone's safety and ensure order within the stands, confirming that their sacrifices prevented the situation from escalating.
The statement added: "As members, we will continue to defend the historical interests and rights of our club and its loyal fans by all available legal and institutional means, while fully respecting the institutions and the spirit of sportsmanship."
