The national karate team shines in Spain
The Moroccan national karate elite concluded its participation in the “Karate 1 Series A CORUÑA 2026” international league, which was hosted by the Spanish city of Coruña during the period from April 22 to 27, with honorable results that reflect the continued development of Moroccan karate on the international scene.
This participation, organized by the Royal Moroccan Karate University and joint methods, witnessed a strong presence of Moroccan champions in various categories, as they demonstrated an outstanding technical and physical performance in front of an elite group of the most prominent international practitioners.
In a remarkable achievement, the Moroccan national team in the group kata category (females) was able to win the bronze medal after strong performances characterized by precision, harmony, and high tactical discipline.
Aya Al-Nusairi, Sanaa Aklamam, and Israa Al-Qahri shone, presenting a fine performance that won the approval of the judges and observers, thus consolidating the advanced position that Morocco now occupies in this technical category.
The national team got off to a strong start with a well-deserved victory over the Spanish team (5-0), followed by a victory over the Portuguese team (4-1), before the march stopped against the Turkish team (2-3), then participated with a well-deserved victory over the Czech team (4-1), so that the national team won third place and a well-deserved bronze medal.
This coronation reflects the great grassroots work carried out by the university in developing kata, whether at the level of training or competitive preparation, and it also constitutes a strong incentive to continue to shine in future international competitions.
In turn, the rest of the national elements presented honorable levels in the competition category, as they showed a high fighting spirit and contributed to enhancing Morocco’s score of points in the world rankings.
The champion, Salah al-Din Kebedi, in the category of less than 84 kg, achieved an important victory over the Latvian Alexander Obernihins (5-2), in a fight in which he demonstrated high readiness, distinguished tactical control, and clear offensive effectiveness.
Champion Ahmed Haddadi, in the under 60 kg category, also scored a strong victory over American Dorta Janko (10-6), in a confrontation known for an intense attacking performance and great scoring efficiency.
With these results, Moroccan Karate confirms once again that it is moving steadily towards consolidating its presence among the major global powers, thanks to a clear strategic vision and continuous support for the national champions.
