Positive performance by Moroccan gymnastics in Bayoundi
The Cameroonian capital, Yaoundé, hosted the nineteenth session of the African Artistic Gymnastics Championship, from April 23 to 27, in which the Moroccan national team for this sport participated with a team consisting of Hamza Hosseini (adult male category), Selina Busmayo (adult female category) and Zakaria Lachhab (youth category), who carried the Moroccan jersey with a performance that won the admiration and praise of the international refereeing committee that supervised the judging of this continental event. Members of the national team have climbed to the podium in various types of artistic gymnastics, obtaining two tickets to qualify for the World Cup in Gymnastics, which will be hosted by the Dutch city of Rotterdam in October of this year. Moroccan champion Hamza Hosseini also won a gold medal on the vault table and a bronze medal on the parallel bars, while Selina Busmaio won a silver medal in the female floor movement style.
To celebrate this continental coronation and global qualification, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Cameroon, Abdelkader Jamoussi, and Deputy Ambassador Jalal Al-Khamlishi, visited the participating Moroccan delegation at its residence and congratulated it on the honorable results obtained and on the distinguished collective performance, stressing the importance of this participation in highlighting the Moroccan presence on the continental level in this type of sport.
The Moroccan delegation received special praise for the spirit of discipline that characterized its members, and for the high level demonstrated by the sports staff supervising the national team under the supervision of Ayyash Boumar, head of the delegation, Abdelilah Razik, technical director of the university, Karima Sahlaal, former Moroccan champion and international referee, Ali Boumediene, coach of the female team, and Larbi Qasbaoui, coach of the male team.
