Baauf excels in the second division in the Netherlands
Young Moroccan international Ismail Baouf entered the competition for the best player award in the Dutch second division “Eerst Divisie”, after the distinguished performances he achieved in the Cambuur club shirt during the current football season.
According to data issued by the award’s organizing body, Baouf is on the list of candidates for the “Golden Shield,” which is the award given to the most prominent player in the competition, in recognition of his regular giving and clear influence on his team’s results.
The young Moroccan defender had a strong season with Cambuur, where he succeeded in scoring six goals and giving one assist, in addition to his defensive roles that made him among the most influential players in his team, which ranks second with 75 points, close to ensuring promotion to the Dutch Premier League.
At the international level, Baouf previously shone with the Moroccan U-20 national team, where he won the World Cup for the same category, before this achievement opened the door for him to join the first team.
