In the first participation in the CAF Cup competition, Olympique Safi is satisfied with the semi-finals
The Olympique Safi team contented itself with reaching the semi-finals in its first participation in the African Confederation Cup, after drawing 1-1 on aggregate against USM Algiers of Algeria.
The preference went to the Algerian football representative based on scoring outside the field, after the two sides tied 1-1 in the return match, this Sunday evening, on the floor of the Green Massira Stadium in the city of Safi.
The Algerian team ended the first half with a clean goal, scored by Ahmed Khalidi via a penalty kick in the fourth minute of stoppage time (45+4), making the homeowners' task more difficult.
With the start of the second half, the โMasfiou Sharkโ intensified its pressure, succeeding in equalizing in the 75th minute through striker Musa Kone with a perfect header. However, this goal was not enough to change the course of qualification in favor of the Moroccan team.
It is worth noting that the first leg, which took place in Algeria, ended with USM Algiers winning with a clean goal, which gave them the advantage in the aggregate of the two matches, also benefiting from the away goal rule.
Thus, USM Algiers sets a date in the final with Zamalek of Egypt, which booked the qualification ticket after defeating CS Belouizdad of Algeria in the other semi-final.
