Al-Taknaouti is close to “surpassing Schubert”

Ahmed Reda El Taknaouti, the Royal Army goalkeeper, continued to catch the eye during the African Champions League competitions, after impressing at distinguished levels that made him the most brilliant goalkeeper in the current edition.

In terms of numbers, Al-Teknaouti’s tally reached 25 saves, equaling the number of Egyptian Al-Ahly goalkeeper Mostafa Schubert, in an intense struggle for the top spot as the best goalkeepers in the continental competition.

The “Military Team” goalkeeper’s brilliance did not stop there, as he achieved a success rate in saves of 83 percent, the highest among all goalkeepers in the tournament, which reflects his decisive role in his team’s journey.

Al-Taknaouti's decisive interventions contributed to leading the Royal Army to reach the final of the African Champions League, where Sun Downs will face South Africa in an anticipated match to decide the identity of the winner of the continental title.

Al-Taknaouti has become one of the most prominent stars of this African tournament, in light of strong competition with Mustafa Schubert, which indicates an ongoing struggle for the title of best goalkeeper until the curtain comes down on the competition.
