The Royal Army qualifies for the CAF Champions League final at the expense of RS Berkane
The Royal Army Club qualified for the CAF Champions League final after defeating Nahdet Berkane with a score of 2-1 on aggregate in the two-legged matches. The semi-final second leg saw Nahdet Berkane prevail with a score of 1-0 in the match that took place this Saturday evening on the grounds of the municipal stadium in Berkane.
The first half was marked by a tactical struggle between the two sides and the fear of receiving a goal that would confuse the calculations, as the offensive risk was absent from the performance of the two teams, which led to the end of the first half phases with a goalless draw.
During the second half, player Yassine Labahiri was able to score the lead goal for Nahdet Berkane in the 57th minute via a penalty kick, igniting the remaining minutes of the match amid intense attempts by both sides.
It is noteworthy that the result of the first leg marked the superiority of the Royal Army with a score of 2-0 at the Moulay Abdullah Stadium in the city of Rabat, which tipped the balance in favor of the “military team” in the overall total and guaranteed its place in the final scene.
In the final of the African Champions League, the Royal Army will meet the South African club Mamelodi Sundowns, which in turn defeated the Tunisian club Esperance Sports Club after beating it 1-0 in the first leg, and with the same score in the second leg.
