“CAF Cup” semi-final.. Al-Khatti threatens the Algerian Federation of elimination in Safi
Tunisian Shukri Al-Khattou, coach of Olympique Safi, said that the confrontation with USM Algiers will be decisive and requires great focus from all components of the team, stressing that the preparations took place in the best conditions and that his players are ready to achieve qualification to the “CAF Cup” final.
Al-Khatwi added, during the press conference he held today, Saturday, in the city of Safi, that the technical staff prepared the team as required, indicating that what was worked on will appear on the field. He called on the club's fans to support the players throughout the match, as this constitutes great moral support.
The coach of the team, Al-Masfiwi, highlighted that the latter will enter the confrontation with an attacking tendency, while at the same time being careful to maintain the defensive balance and not concede any goal, stating that the team is not thinking about resorting to penalty kicks, but rather aspires to settle the qualification ticket during regular time.
Al-Khatwi expressed his great confidence in the group, stressing that all conditions are prepared in the city of Safi in order to achieve the desired goal, and that the team is required to deal intelligently with the periods of strength and weakness that the match may experience.
He pointed out that his team will play with the mentality that the first leg did not take place, taking advantage of the ground staff and the crowd, considering that playing at Al Masirah Stadium and in front of the supporters constitutes an additional motivation to achieve a positive result.
The coach recalled that Olympique Safi's path this season was difficult, whether in the African Confederation Cup or the professional tournament, while at the same time refusing to hold the players responsible for wasting opportunities in the first leg, expressing his hope that they will succeed in translating opportunities into goals during the return leg.
Al-Khatti concluded his statement by emphasizing that he does not exaggerate in his praise of his players, because he has a good group that has enough quality to reach the final.
It is worth noting that the match between Olympique Safi and USM Algiers, for the second leg of the semi-finals of the African Confederation Cup, will take place tomorrow, Sunday, starting at eight o’clock in the evening, on the field of Al-Masirah Stadium in the city of Safi.
