Nadir is approaching free transfer deals
A few weeks away from the opening of the summer transfer period, the future of Moroccan international Bilal Nadir with Olympique de Marseille seems, according to French media reports, more ambiguous than ever, with the end of his contract approaching next June without any tangible progress recorded in renewal negotiations, which opens the door to his departure for free at the end of the season.
Nader had joined the southern team amid high hopes, as he is one of the most prominent and promising young talents within the club. The player, who graduated from the Nice Academy and joined Marseille in the summer of 2023, showed in his early career remarkable technical qualifications that won the approval of the fans of the “Velodrome” stadium, but his path suffered a severe setback due to a serious knee injury that prevented him from regaining his full level.
The 2025-2026 season was a clear sign of the decline in the player’s status within the team. He suffered from a lack of participation, whether under the leadership of Italian coach Roberto De Zerbi, or to a greater extent under current coach Habib Paye. Nader played 19 matches in the French League, with a total of only 557 playing minutes, during which he provided four decisive passes, without leaving an influential mark. He also participated in some Champions League and French Cup matches, but did not succeed in imposing himself in the starting lineup.
In recent weeks, the player has been removed from the accounts of the technical staff, after he missed several matches, most notably against Olympique Lyonnais, Auxerre, and Toulouse. He has also not appeared in official matches since the end of last February, which reinforces the hypothesis that his career with the team will end this summer.
Despite the decline in his presence this season, Bilal Nadir is still receiving interest from a number of clubs in Spain, England and France, given his technical capabilities, good vision of the game, and his ability to make a difference in the final third of the field.
