Preparation increases the readiness of the "Atlas Lionesses"
The players of the Moroccan women's national team confirmed that the group worked well during the two friendly matches against Mali and Tanzania, as part of the preparations for the 2026 African Cup of Women finals.
Sanaa Al-Masoudi explained that the “Atlas Lionesses” achieved the most important thing in the first match by defeating Tanzania, and they also performed well in the second match against Mali despite being satisfied with the result of a draw, highlighting that the players applied the technical instructions and gave everything they had on the field.
For her part, Zainab Al-Ridwani stressed that the atmosphere within the group was characterized by a family nature and clear harmony between the players, adding that the team faced tactical difficulties against Mali, which adopted a defensive style, which made the task of reaching the goal difficult, adding: “We will work on this factor during the coming period to ensure better readiness before the continental tournament.”
The “Atlas Lionesses” had started this camp with a 3-0 victory over the Tanzania national team in the first friendly match, before drawing against the Mali national team (1-1) in the second friendly match on the grounds of Moulay Hassan Stadium, in preparation for the upcoming “Alkan” competitions between July 25 and August 16 in Morocco.
