Alexandre dos Santos, the Royal Army Football Coach, stressed that the return match against RS Berkane in the CAF Champions League semi-finals is not easy.
Santos said today, during the press conference preceding the confrontation, that his presence in this round for the first time since his arrival to Morocco is a great honor, highlighting that reaching the semi-finals is a historic event for the โmilitaryโ team.
The Portuguese coach also spoke about the value of the achievement achieved, explaining that the Royal Army has reached this role for the first time in 40 years. This reflects the great work done by the club during the past period.
He pointed out that the presence of two Moroccan teams in the semi-finals confirms the remarkable development witnessed by national football, considering this to be an honorable matter for Morocco and African football in general.
Santos did not hide the difficulty of the confrontation, highlighting that the match does not know any prior advantage for any party, and that all possibilities remain possible, especially since the two teams have great balance at the tactical level and have presented good levels during their continental journey.
The Royal Army coach highlighted that the first leg ended in favor of his team after the players performed well and deserved to win, adding that the return match represents the second half, and everything remains subject to change. Because football does not recognize the impossible.
Santos concluded his speech by emphasizing his pride in the group he supervises, after 14 months of work, stressing that his team will enter the match in its usual style based on possession, creating opportunities, and keeping clean sheets.
The confrontation between the RS Berkane and the Royal Army teams will begin tomorrow, Saturday, starting at eight in the evening, on the field of the municipal stadium in Berkane, noting that the first leg ended with the Royal Army winning by two goals without a response.
