FIFA announces the deadlines for receiving World Cup rosters
The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) announced the timetable for determining the lists of teams participating in the 2026 World Cup finals, which are expected in the United States of America, Mexico and Canada.
The guardian body of world football has set next May 13 as the last date for submitting the expanded rosters, as teams are allowed to call up between 35 and 55 players, with the aim of expanding the base of technical choices before the final decision.
FIFA obligated the various clubs to release their international players no later than May 25, to ensure that they join the national teams in a timely manner and participate in the preparatory camps under the best conditions.
The International Federation has approved June 1, 2026, as a deadline for submitting official lists, which will be reduced to between 23 and 26 players, in preparation for their official approval before the start of the global competition.
