Unfit referees in the Moroccan championship
Yesterday, Tuesday, the National Technical Directorate of Arbitration conducted a test to measure the physical level of referees at the Mohammed VI Football Center in Rabat, as part of the ongoing preparations for the resumption of professional tournament competitions.
An informed arbitration source revealed, in communication with Hesport, that the Technical Directorate recorded observations regarding the physical readiness of a number of referees and assistant referees, after identifying a discrepancy in levels during this test.
The same source added that the directorate expressed its dissatisfaction with the physical level shown by some of the referees during this test, which prompted it to make technical observations with the aim of correcting the deficiencies and raising the level of readiness before the resumption of competitions.
This test comes within a training program supervised by the Technical Directorate, which continues through theoretical and practical sessions, in addition to analyzing the most prominent arbitration cases recorded during the first half of the tournament, in preparation for the return stage.
This training extends over four days as part of an integrated training programme, which combines fitness tests and applied exercises, in addition to theoretical workshops on reading the game and managing refereeing situations, including lessons on handball situations and others related to offside situations, as well as examining the test results and extracting technical recommendations that will improve the refereeing performance and raise the referees’ readiness as the resumption of the tournament approaches.
