Morocco enhances the security of the World Cup in America
The United States Embassy in Rabat announced that Morocco has been selected to participate in the White House task force charged with coordinating security efforts related to the organization of the 2026 World Cup.
The embassy explained, in a post on its official accounts, that this step falls within the framework of strengthening security cooperation between the two countries, considering that it constitutes a new opportunity to consolidate the bilateral partnership, especially with the approaching commemoration of 250 years of historical relations between Rabat and Washington, in addition to sharing a common passion for sports.
It is worth noting that the White House working group is responsible for leading and coordinating US federal efforts related to organizing major sporting events, in partnership with a number of government institutions and agencies, with the aim of ensuring tight preparation at the security and organizational levels.
The work of this body is based on enhancing coordination between the various stakeholders, through exchanging information and providing strategic support, to ensure the organization of a global event that reflects the values of security and hospitality.
The selection of Morocco as part of the aforementioned task force confirms its position as a reliable partner at the international level in the areas of security coordination and organizing major events, in the context of the ongoing preparations to host the 2026 World Cup, as was the case in the last edition of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
