Ashraf Hakimi: Rape accusations are false
The Moroccan full-back at Paris Saint-Germain, Frenchman Achraf Hakimi, said on Monday that he was “at peace” about being referred to trial on charges of rape, considering this charge to be “false.”
Hakimi added during a press conference on the eve of the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Liverpool: "I know that these accusations are false, and I am at peace of mind. I leave the matter in the hands of my defense team and justice."
The Moroccan international, who has always denied these accusations, has not made public statements since the issuance of this judicial decision in February, when he was referred to trial against the backdrop of rape accusations dating back to February 2023, relating to a woman who was 24 years old at the time.
In late February 2023, the young woman first went to a police station in Val-de-Marne, where she announced that she had been raped, without filing a formal complaint.
A preliminary investigation was opened, and a few days later the player was officially charged, which led to the case being referred to the Hauts-de-Seine District Criminal Court, at a date yet to be determined.
The plaintiff claimed, according to a police source, that the player kissed her and committed sexual acts against her without her consent before raping her.
