Report: Loza’s performance attracts Saudi clubs
Moroccan international Imran Loza has become “on the radar of a number of Saudi clubs” during the upcoming summer transfer period, in light of his remarkable brilliance with Watford this season.
The “Africa Foot” website confirmed that the English club’s management set an amount of 15 million pounds sterling to abandon the player’s services, which European clubs such as Everton and Fulham considered high, so they withdrew from the race to sign him.
The same source added that this situation opened the door for Al-Ittihad and Al-Qadisiyah clubs, which expressed their willingness to pay the required financial value, in an attempt to persuade Watford to abandon the player’s services.
Despite the tempting offers coming from the Saudi League, Loza prefers to continue his career in Europe, in an effort to maintain his competitive readiness and ensure his continuity among the options of the Moroccan national team.
Loza is having a distinguished season with Watford, where he contributed 16 goals between scoring and assisting, alongside his compatriot Othman Maama, which made him the focus of interest of several clubs seeking to strengthen their ranks with players capable of making a difference.
It is worth noting that the Watford administration plans to invest the proceeds from the potential deal in contracting with young African talents, as part of its project to rebuild the team.
