The Royal Army defeats RS Berkane with two clean goals in the Champions League semi-finals
The Royal Army team achieved an important victory in the first leg of the African Champions League semi-final, at the expense of RS Berkane, with a score of two clean goals, today, Saturday, in a match hosted by the Moulay Abdallah Complex in Rabat.
The match started at a slow pace between the two teams, as the ball remained trapped in the middle of the field for many periods of the first half, without the few attacks created by the two sides, especially the Royal Army, posing a great threat to the goal of Nahdet Berkane goalkeeper Anas Zniti.
In the second half, “Al-Asaker” pressed in search of the first goal by advancing towards the opponent’s goal thanks to the movements of the wing players, and this was achieved by Ahmed Hammoudan’s goal in the 65th minute of the match.
Everyone waited for the reaction of the Berkane team, but it showed coldness in dealing with the construction of attacks, so the attempts were absent, and the Royal Army took advantage of this by scoring the second goal with a powerful shot from Khaled Ait Orkhan in the 80th minute.
The final minutes of the match did not bring any change in the result, and the Royal Army won the first leg in their favor with two clean goals, before the return match expected next Saturday at the municipal stadium in Berkane.
It is noteworthy that the second semi-final of the Champions League competition will bring together the teams of Esperance of Tunisia and Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa.
