Al-Nusairi shines despite the fall of “Al-Ittihad”
The remarkable brilliance of Moroccan international Youssef Al-Nusairi did not prevent his team Al-Ittihad from being defeated by its guest NEOM, with a score of four goals to three, in the match that brought them together, on Wednesday, in the twenty-ninth round of the Saudi Professional League.
The NEOM team entered the confrontation strongly, as Moroccan star Said Benrahma opened the scoring early in the third minute, before Uruguayan Luciano Rodriguez increased the score with a second goal in the 16th minute, putting the hosts in a difficult position from the beginning.
Al-Ittihad responded through Youssef Al-Nusairi, who reduced the gap with the first goal in the 38th minute, before the same player returned to mark the equalizer in the 44th minute, confirming his strong presence and high scoring sense.
With the start of the second half, Algerian Hossam Aouar was able to give Al-Ittihad the lead for the first time in the match with a third goal in the 49th minute, but NEOM’s response was not delayed, after Muhannad Al Saad equalized in the 55th minute.
At a time when the match was heading towards a draw, NEOM snatched the fatal winning goal in the first minute of stoppage time through Alaa Al Hajji, resolving an exciting confrontation that witnessed many fluctuations in the result.
