Atletico Madrid surprises Barcelona with two goals
Atletico Madrid responded to its numerically inferior Barcelona and defeated it at Camp Nou Stadium 2-0 on Wednesday, in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
After defeating them in two consecutive matches in the league and before that in the cup (they were not eliminated because they lost 0-4 in the first leg before winning 3-0 in the return), Atletico took revenge on Barcelona with a victory that put them close to the semi-finals, with goals from Argentine Julián Alvarez (45) and Norwegian substitute Alexander Sorloth (70), in a match in which the Catalan team’s player, Pau Cobarci (44), was sent off.
