Saint-Germain puts one foot forward in the semi-finals
Defending champion Paris Saint-Germain put France ahead in the semi-finals of the Champions League, by defeating its guest Liverpool 2-0 on Wednesday in the first leg of the quarter-finals.
The French capital team owes its victory to the duo, Desiree Douai (11) and Georgian Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (65), who scored the two goals in a match that was almost completely dominated by the team of Spanish coach Luis Enrique.
The return match will be held at Anfield Road in Liverpool next Tuesday, with the qualifier between them in the semi-finals facing the qualifier between Germany's Bayern Munich and Spain's Real Madrid, knowing that the former won the first leg away from home 2-1 in the Spanish capital.
