Motsepe in Rabat after the “Alcan” crisis
The President of the Confederation of African Football, South African Patrice Motsepe, will pay an official visit to Morocco tomorrow, Thursday, where he is expected to hold a meeting with the President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, Faouzi Lakjaa, along with a number of players in the field of national football.
It is expected that this visit will culminate in a press conference in the capital, Rabat, starting at five in the evening, local time. This is an occasion that constitutes a meeting with the national media for the first time after the events of the African Cup of Nations final and the decision of the Appeals Committee to consider the Moroccan team victorious by three clean goals, in exchange for the withdrawal of the Senegalese team.
The Morocco stop comes directly after a visit that led the same official to Senegal, on Wednesday, where he met with the country's president, Basserou Diomay Faye, along with the president of the Senegalese Football Federation, Abdoulaye Fall.
The Confederation of African Football and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation are expected to reveal additional details regarding the program and objectives of this visit, with the African Cup of Nations final and the dispute with Senegal forming one of the most prominent topics on their agenda.
