Pettis points the compass towards the curler
A free Moroccan transfer is knocking on the doors of “La Liga” during the upcoming summer Mercato, in light of serious moves by Real Betis to strengthen its ranks.
The website “Vichachis” revealed that the Andalusian club has shown great interest in contracting with Moroccan international Sofiane Al Karawani, the left back of the Dutch club Utrecht, in a free transfer deal.
Al-Karwani is 25 years old, and he in turn expresses a desire to have a new experience in the Spanish League (La Liga), which enhances the chances of completing the deal next summer.
Betis prefers this option, given the approaching end of the player's contract with Utrecht in the summer of 2026, which allows him to be included without financial compensation, in a move that is in line with the club's policy of strengthening its ranks at the lowest costs.
The Spanish team is looking for a left-back with offensive capabilities, which is what Al-Karawani has, who is known for his offensive tendency and his ability to make a difference in the final third.
The Moroccan player had a distinguished season, participating in 42 matches, during which he scored 3 goals and provided 16 assists, numbers that reflect his great influence.
If the deal is completed, Al-Karrouani will be next to his compatriot Abdel Samad Zalzouli in the ranks of Real Betis, in an experience that may enhance the Moroccan presence in Spanish stadiums, while the Moroccan trio may be completed during the next football season if the Andalusian club buys Sofiane Amrabat’s contract permanently.
