Morocco wins the North African U-17 Championship with a “full mark”
The Moroccan under-17 team was crowned champion of the North African Union, qualifying for the finals of the African Cup of Nations, after its victory in the fourth and final round over the Libyan team, 3-1, this evening, Sunday, on the floor of the “Benina Martyrs” stadium in the Libyan city of Benghazi.
The U17 Cubs finished the first half with a 2-1 lead, and Adam Bogazir was able to open the scoring for the national team in the second minute, after which the Libyan team equalized through Mohamed Jarroud in the tenth minute.
Player Adam Bogazir returned to score his second personal goal in the 45th minute, ending the first chapter of this international match with the “Atlas Cubs” beating the hosts of this North African tournament with a score of 2-1.
During the second half, the Moroccan national team added a third goal in the 55th minute, through player Adnan Boujovi, who frustrated the Libyans’ hopes of a comeback in the match result.
The national elements knew how to manage the remaining minutes of the confrontation with high tactical intelligence, as the “Atlas Cubs” tightened their grip on the course of the game and thwarted all Libyan attempts to return the result. This defensive discipline and great mental focus enabled the Moroccan team to maintain its field superiority until the final whistle blew, confirming its superiority with a well-deserved victory with a score of three goals to one.
The Moroccan team was able to achieve the full mark during this tournament, after winning the four matches, where it won the first over the Tunisian team with a score of 2-0, the second over the Algerian team with a score of 3-0, the third over the Egyptian team with a score of 2-1, and finally over the Libyan team.
It is worth noting that the African Cup of Nations for under 17 years will be held on Moroccan soil.
