Seismic “economic option” in Barcelona
Moroccan international Abdel Samad Zalzouli, a Real Betis player, continues to attract attention with his brilliance this season, which has made him return to the “radar” of his former club Barcelona, which is studying the possibility of strengthening its ranks with offensive elements at an appropriate financial cost.
A report by the Spanish newspaper “AS” revealed that the Catalan club’s sports administration, led by Deco and Bojan Krkic, is closely following the development of the Moroccan player’s performance, as “Barca” seeks to respect the rules of financial fair play and reduce the wage pool, which prompts it to search for less expensive deals compared to the big names on offer.
The same source explained that Al-Zalzouli is among the options proposed to strengthen the winger’s position, given his rising level with Real Betis, where he recorded distinguished numbers during the last two seasons, whether in terms of goals or assists, in addition to his prominent role in European competitions.
Al-Zalzouli had been promoted to Barcelona since 2021, before he had experiences with the first team and was then loaned to Osasuna, after which he moved permanently to Betis due to financial fair play restrictions, with the Catalan club retaining a percentage of the value of his sale in the future.
The Moroccan player, who is distinguished by his speed and high individual skills, has become more mature compared to his previous period at Camp Nou, which makes the idea of his return strongly mooted within the corridors of the club, if his numbers continue to rise during the remainder of the season.
