Marseille club is waiting to recover Akrad
Moroccan international Naif Akrad continues his rehabilitation program with his team, Olympique Marseille, after the surgery he underwent on the adductor muscle last March, as the team’s coach, Habib Biy, revealed the latest developments in his health condition before facing Monaco.
In a press statement prior to the Monaco match, Peay confirmed that Akrad had gradually resumed training, indicating that he would not be among the team’s roster for Sunday’s match, despite the beginning of his return to the teamwork atmosphere.
The French club coach explained that the development of the Moroccan defender’s condition “is proceeding according to its natural course,” indicating that his recovery process respects the pre-determined medical program, without recording any setback.
Akrad has been absent from Marseille's ranks since undergoing surgery in the middle of last month, as the technical and medical staff prefer not to rush his return to competition, to avoid any possible complications, especially with crucial stages of the season approaching.
The former player of several European trials is expected to continue to regain his physical readiness in the coming days, with the hope of joining the group as soon as possible, to compete for his place in the Moroccan national team’s defense in the World Cup after he missed the last camp due to injury.
