Paraguayan media praises the "Atlas Lions"
A number of Paraguayan media outlets agreed on the strength of the Moroccan national team, following its victory over its Paraguayan counterpart by two goals to one, in the friendly match that brought together the two sides in France yesterday, Tuesday, as part of the two teams’ preparations for the 2026 World Cup finals.
The newspaper “ABC Color” highlighted the performance presented by the “Atlas Lions”, considering that the Moroccan team constituted “a test of the utmost difficulty”, given the high tactical organization and offensive efficiency demonstrated by the players, especially during periods of rapid transition from defense to attack, which enabled the confrontation to be resolved.
The praise was not limited to the media coverage, but extended to the technical staff of the Paraguayan national team, where coach Gustavo Alvaro, in statements reported by the same newspaper, described the Moroccan national team as “a mirror that must be emulated,” stressing that it is among the teams strongly nominated to shine in the World Cup, given the players it has who practice at the highest European levels, in addition to team discipline and physical toughness.
For its part, the “Versus” platform considered that the match constituted a real test against a heavy-caliber opponent, highlighting that the Moroccan team succeeded in imposing its rhythm during the decisive moments, benefiting from its technical superiority and good spread on the field.
The reports of the “D10” website also went in the same direction, focusing on the great effectiveness shown by the Moroccan team in front of the goal, considering that the difference between the two teams was mainly manifested in the ability to exploit opportunities, which gave the advantage to the “Atlas Lions” despite Paraguay’s attempts to come back in the result.
The Moroccan national team achieved a draw against Ecuador last Friday, with a score of one to the same, before achieving a victory with two goals to one over Paraguay, in the first match of the “Lions” under the leadership of the new national voter, Mohamed Wehbe.
