Wehbe: The team needs to maintain cohesion
The coach of the Moroccan national team, Mohamed Wehbe, expressed his complete satisfaction with the performance of his players after achieving victory this Tuesday evening in the friendly confrontation against the Paraguay national team (2-1), in the French city of Lens, praising the adjustments that were made during this match.
Wehbe said during the press conference that followed the match: “It was a completely different match from the Ecuador match. It was necessary to find some kind of harmony and match the opponent’s style.”
The national voter stressed the importance of drawing lessons away from haste, adding: “I will not draw all the conclusions now. I will focus mainly on our technical level, and also on the level of the opponents that we will face in the World Cup finals.”
Speaking about the collective spirit that characterized the “Atlas Lions” playing style, Wehbe mentioned his gradual approach, saying: “I called up an expanded list, and I was aware that some of the players would not participate, but I am very happy with this group. The best and most prepared elements are the ones that will be chosen to participate in the World Cup,” and he added: “We must not change everything at once, in order to maintain the cohesion and harmony of the group.”
The coach himself focused on reconciling ambition and humility, saying: “The ceiling of our ambitions is very high, but we also have a lot of humility, as we are now a team that everyone waits for.”
The national voter also expressed his satisfaction with the atmosphere in which the training camp took place, adding: “This first gathering took place in an atmosphere of complete calm, and I am very satisfied with the results of this camp.”
