The Saudi national team loses to Serbia
The first Saudi national football team was defeated by its Serbian counterpart with a score of 2-1 in the friendly match that brought them together, today, Tuesday, in the Serbian city of Baka Topola, as part of its ongoing preparatory camp in preparation for participation in the 2026 World Cup.
Saudi Arabia opened the scoring early through Abdullah Al-Hamdan in the 8th minute, before Serbia equalized in the second half through Strahinja Pavlovic in the 66th minute, then Aleksandar Mitrovic added the lead goal in the 70th minute.
The match witnessed a relative advantage for the Serbian national team in the course of the second half in terms of possession and opportunity creation, while the Saudi national team relied on defensive organization and counterattacks, without being able to adjust the result in the remaining minutes.
This confrontation comes within the Saudi national team’s preparation program, which includes a number of friendly matches. With the aim of raising technical and physical readiness, and giving the technical staff the opportunity to try out a number of elements before the upcoming official duels.
