A double from Khanous and El Ainaoui gives the Moroccan team victory over Paraguay
The Moroccan first national football team defeated the Paraguayan national team, 2-1, in the friendly match that brought them together this Tuesday evening, on the field of the “Poulard Dololi” stadium in the French city of Lens.
The match began with early attacks by members of the Moroccan national team, seeking to create gaps in the Paraguayan national team's back line, but the campaigns of Achraf Hakimi's teammates did not pose a real threat to the goal during the first quarter hour.
As the minutes of the first half passed, Paraguay responded with dangerous attacks, as its players came close on two occasions to scoring, but the saves of the Moroccan national team's goalkeeper, Yassine Bounou, were decisive and thwarted all of the opponent's chances.
With the start of the second half, the Moroccan national team was able to open the scoring in the 48th minute through Bilal Khanous, who took advantage of a precise side pass from Achraf Hakimi to score the goal that put the Atlas Lions ahead.
Midfielder Nael El Ainawi added the second goal for the “Atlas Lions” in the 53rd minute, after another similar pass from Brigadier General Ashraf Hakimi.
The Paraguayan national team tried to reduce the difference through several offensive attempts, but the brilliance of goalkeeper Yacine Bounou, in addition to the vigilance of the Moroccan national team’s defensive line, kept the “Atlas Lions” clean sheet until the 87th minute, when player Costavo Caballero was able to reduce the score, so the match ended with the Moroccan national team winning by two goals to one.
This match is the second test for the Moroccan national team during the international break for the month of March, in preparation for the World Cup finals scheduled to start next June, as it tied 1-1 in the first match against the Ecuadorian national team.
