Al-Saktiwi is betting on the Moroccan experience
National coach Tariq Al-Saktiwi expressed his happiness at assuming the task of coaching the Sultanate of Oman’s national team, stressing his intention to work on building an integrated football project based on clear foundations and aiming to achieve a balance between immediate results and long-term development.
Al-Saktiwi said, during the press conference that followed his introduction as the new coach of the Omani national team on Monday in Muscat, that he had received a distinguished reception since his arrival, stressing that this welcome places him with a great responsibility to meet the aspirations of the fans and work to develop football in the country.
The Moroccan coach explained that his goal is to transfer the successful Moroccan experience to the Sultanate of Oman, noting that Moroccan football has witnessed remarkable development in recent years, thanks to grassroots work and a strategy that included various Sunni groups, which he seeks to implement gradually with the Omani national team.
Al-Saktiwi pointed out that the current stage requires a lot of work, especially in light of the need to renew blood within the national team, highlighting that building a competitive team passes through establishing an integrated system that includes developing the players on the physical and mental levels, in addition to improving the tactical aspects.
Regarding the problem of offensive infertility, the same spokesman stressed that the matter is not limited to attackers only, but is related to the collective system, stressing the necessity of achieving a balance between defense and attack, and working to improve the players’ positioning and effectiveness within the pitch.
Al-Saktiwi also highlighted the importance of investing in the age groups, by developing clear training programs that ensure the preparation of a new generation of players capable of raising the level of the national team in the future, stressing that developing tournaments for age groups is an essential step in this direction.
The Moroccan coach concluded his statements by emphasizing his desire to work in coordination with all components of Omani football, in order to build a strong team capable of competing, stressing that the goal is not limited to achieving circumstantial results, but rather establishing a sustainable football project that will serve Omani football in the long term.
