Two Moroccans in the Arab Rowing Federation
Morocco recorded a significant presence in the results of the elections of the Arab Rowing Federation, by electing Nassat Abderrahim as Vice-President for the African continent, and choosing Nawal Hazari as Vice-President in charge of the women’s component, in a new confirmation of the position of Moroccan competencies within the Arab sports decision-making structures, and of the dynamism of its involvement in developing water sports that is still searching for more radiance.
In the same context, the results of the electoral general assembly resulted in Egyptian Sherif El Gomati winning the position of President of the Arab Rowing Federation in the state 2026-2029, after obtaining the confidence of the members by acclamation and consensus, in an organizational station that reflects a regional consensus on the next stage, which is expected to show a trend towards strengthening the presence of rowing and expanding the base of its practitioners.
The electoral process witnessed the formation of a new Board of Directors that included, in addition to the Moroccan representation, Hassan Rustum from Lebanon as Vice President for Asia, and the membership of Issa Yousef Al-Fawi from Bahrain, Khaldoun Abu Salim from Palestine, Rashid Majid Al-Sulaiti from Qatar, and Saeed Mohammed from Somalia.
