My promise hesitates in front of the “Moroccan shirt”
Ayoub Bouadi, midfielder for the French football team Lille, expressed his hesitation regarding deciding his international future between representing France or Morocco, stressing that he does not want to rush into making a fateful decision of this kind.
The 18-year-old player's statements came on the sidelines of his preparations with the France U-21 national team, before facing the Iceland national team, where he carried the captain's badge for the first time in the last match against Luxembourg.
Bouadi explained, in a press conference, that he has not yet decided on his final choice, saying: "Until now, I have not made my decision. The national team is a very important choice in any player's career. Therefore, I prefer to give myself some time, and I do not want to rush."
In response to the possibility of making his decision before the next World Cup finals, the player stressed that the matter is not linked to any specific timetable, adding: “There is no specific timing for this decision. It is a personal choice that comes from the heart, and my family and those close to me have a role in this choice. I do not feel any pressure in this aspect.”
Ayoub Bouadi is one of the strong emerging names in the French League this season. This made him the focus of attention of both the Royal Moroccan Football Federation and the French Federation, as both parties sought to gain his services in the future.
