Moroccan Pitarch dreams of representing “La Roja”
Thiago Pitarch, the Spanish Real Madrid player of Moroccan origins, expressed his hope to represent the first “La Roja” team, at the height of the race between the Royal Moroccan Football League and the Spanish Football Federation to win his services.
Pitarch said, in statements to the official website of the Spanish Football Federation, that he is experiencing a special period in his career, whether with his club, Real Madrid, or with the Spanish U-19 national team, adding: “I am very happy with everything I am experiencing, playing with my team and the national team. My goal is to play with the first team and win titles if possible. I work for that every day, and if I am here today it is because I want to reach the top, step by step.”
For his part, Yassine Bounou commented, in statements to the “DAZN” network after the Moroccan national team’s match against its Ecuadorian counterpart yesterday, on the subject of Pitarç’s international future, saying: “He has his family here, as well as in Spain, so I think the player will do what he really feels; the most important thing is for him to know that here we will always receive him with open arms. And every player who has a connection to Morocco is welcome.”
The Spanish national team coach, Luis de Lafuente, confirmed a few days ago that Pitarch really wants to wear the “La Roja” shirt, awaiting the results of the university’s attempts to convince him of the Moroccan national team project, before the final decision on his international future.
Real Madrid's midfield emerged as one of the surprises of the season, as it played eight matches under the supervision of coach Alvaro Arbeloa and presented strong levels, especially after obtaining the official title in decisive matches, including the confrontation with Manchester City.
