Analysts: Coach Wehbe uses a new tactical philosophy after the Ragragui stage
After his first field test with the “Atlas Lions,” Moroccan sports analysts said, “The new national voter, Mohamed Wehbe, officiated the friendly match of the Moroccan national team against the Ecuadorian national team, which ended in a 1-1 draw, with a new style and a smart method based on a different tactical philosophy,” considering that “the players’ adaptation to this method quickly requires doubling the national team’s friendly matches.”
Idris Abbes, a national coach and sports analyst, said, “The first match for voter Mohamed Wehbe came in a very difficult context for any coach; it was pre-programmed and included changes at the level of the national team’s human composition.”
Abbes explained, in a statement to Hespress, that “Mohamed Wehbe tried, as much as possible, to rely on very important elements; he faced several coercions in this context, the first of which was the coercion of injuries, and the second of which was the shortage in some centers.”
The same national framework and sports analyst confirmed that “Morocco played a match against a very strong competitor at the level of the American Latin School, which is characterized by short playing, but Wahbi knew how to work with a new structure, most notably the elimination of an explicit spearhead,” highlighting that “this trend is expected to be observed in the future at the level of the World Cup in 2026 and the subsequent versions.”
The same spokesman noted that the national voter relied on building attacks from the lower defensive zone and then spreading them, and said: “This method was successful at times, through quick attacks, especially those led by Mazrawi, Al-Sibari and Diaz, but they were not dealt with in the desired manner.”
Regarding the defensive aspect, Abbes spoke about “returning to the defensive bloc, that is, the defensive bloc in the middle of the field, in addition to the pressure method,” noting that “this hybrid method combines directed pressure and a calm approach.”
