The Spanish press praises the Atlas lions

Today, Saturday, the Spanish sports press praised the technical and tactical importance of the friendly match that took place last Friday evening at the Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid, between the national team and its Ecuadorian counterpart (1-1).

The most prominent Iberian sports newspapers highlighted the quality of play and the strong rhythm of a match that “was only friendly in name,” in a high-level confrontation that took place in a very enthusiastic atmosphere.

In this context, the newspaper “AS” touched on a match characterized by “strong competition” and “high-level” football in a Madrid stadium that supported both sides of the confrontation with great enthusiasm. The daily pointed out that the “Metropolitano” stadium experienced a real festive atmosphere “with the flavor of the World Cup,” thanks to the passion of a large Moroccan community who made a pilgrimage to support the “Atlas Lions.”

For its part, the newspaper “Marca” stopped at the first appearance of the new national voter Mohamed Wehbe, highlighting that the Moroccan technician, who has accumulated continental and international successes in the recent period, “left nothing to chance” in his first test at the helm of the national team, and added that this frank offensive approach falls within the framework of the continuity of the positive dynamic witnessed by Moroccan football on the global scene.

For its part, the newspaper “Mundo Deportivo” described the confrontation as a “World Cup test,” highlighting the high-pressure style and tactical discipline of both teams, who presented a “balanced and intense” display.

As for “Sport” newspaper, it praised the strength of character demonstrated by Nile El Aynaoui’s companions. Thanks to the equalizer scored in the 89th minute with a powerful header, the Moroccan midfielder enabled his team to recover the result, thus confirming, according to the Catalan daily, that the “Atlas Lions” are “ready to raise the greatest challenges” against opponents of the same caliber as the Ecuadorian national team, known for its physical strength.

Several public media outlets also considered that this match constituted a real test, highlighting that the first match of the international break in March enabled the Moroccan national team to assess the extent of its solidity and cohesion against a South American team at the highest level.
